    Summary

But as with all things, dreams must come to an end, so Nahida sighs and focuses on more important matters. Such as, the stunned girl with white hair sprawled on her knees, leaflets nestled in her braid. She looks up at Nahida with a completely bewildered expression. It’s like looking into a mirror.

Nahida looks down. Black knee length shorts.

    “Oh. Whoopsies.”

“Whoopsies,” Scaramouche says, and her own voice comes out. “That’s all you’ve got? Whoopsies?”

Sometimes, getting to know a person is to walk a mile in their shoes, literally. Other times it’s taking pictures of the things you like, and going for joyrides in the middle of the night. It’s about finding a friend you never knew you needed, in the last place you’d ever look. About wishing you were worth sticking around for, and realizing you were enough all along.

Healing is a long and eventful journey, which is not always going in the good direction, but having someone to help you during its hardships makes it a bit easier to keep going ; the style is kinda poetic and cryptic, it suits Nahida well and I find those kinds of styles soothing ; I love the dynamic between Nahida and Scaramouche : they both suffered, even if it was not caused by the same things, and they both need someone to help them heel ; Nahida needs Scaramouche’s brutality in order to realise that she can ask for things and be more selfish ; Scaramouche needs Nahida’s calm and quiet comfort to be able to let himself feel something else than anger or hatred again ; it is lovely to see their evolution, the way they began to care for each other and change, step by step, for the better for them, even if sometimes they stumble along the way ; I love their relationship, it really is a sweet thing (and once again found family is my favorite trope)

It wouldn't do. He had to change. Be nicer, more considerate to the others. Learn to think things through and not just accept them at face value. Take his studies more seriously. Prove to Snape he was good enough to learn occlumency. That he wasn't his father.
He refused to be the man in the pensive.

I really like Harry’s realization about himself and his bad behaviors and the efforts he puts to change into a better version of himself (even if it is really difficult and he might loses important things along the way), for me, it is like the author has taken the Harry from the canon and is describing his evolution if his discovery about his father being a bully has more impact than in canon (always thought it was under-use in the books, as well as many other things) ; there are clues here and there about the consequences of being raised in a abusing family (well I see them like that), like the way Harry tends to be a people pleaser and has a low self esteem (the main examples are his drawing for me) ; love the friendships he is growing (Hermione, the twins, Neville, Luna, even Hanna and Susan to a lesser extend) ; not too fond about the fact that nearly everyone he will probably grow appart being homophobic but I will see where that go ; Ron’s and Sirius’s protrait are pretty accurate in comparison with their personnality in the books and I think it is really impressive (even if I like how Sirius can be in fanfiction, in canon, he was far from a good and ideal person/godfather) ; Snape is egal to himself, didn’t have a lot of presence for now despite being the main reason for Harry’s decision to change

I think (like in most fiction) the fact that what Class 1-A had gone through is very traumatizing, especially as they are around 15 years old at that time (and no, being in training (important word, they were training) to become an hero doesn’t make them less prompt to PTSD, quite the contrary), is very overlooked ; it’s normal they become paranoid and the check-in sentences could definitely have been a thing, especially with all the smart ones in the class and considering Toga’ quirk ; in any case, this is very sweet (despite the reasons behind the check-in sentences) and I love when Class A acts as a family, or something similar, it’s really a blessing for the heart ; Aizawa, number one dad as it should (this man is such a softie behind all his grumpiness)

    Summary

Through the window, boats drift in a mirror of the yawning sky, fringed with wide lotus leaves and the pale yellow blossoms that grow year-round. Geese call in the distance. And there again, drifting through the air—the scent of sesame shaobing, and hot dry noodles, and the sizzle-pop of frying oil. Like the heat-haze of summer, softened with time. Like the taste of home.

Or, four meals Wei Wuxian shares during his travels, and one he shares with his soulmate.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Can we call a travel a journey if one has no expectation to return to a home at the end ? Isn’t it more wandering ? Even if WY can take his time to get use to live again and just to be himself, it kinda feels like he won’t allow him to go where he wants (his poor self esteem, the way he consideres himself a nuisance, his worries about taking too much are so understanable after everything that happened, after the number of times he had to build a new home, receving various critics from different kind of people…). At least, LZ is there, willing to take care of WY, and in this life, willing to voice it and act about it (such a wonderful couple, sweet even if they are stupid sometimes (about the pining and the obliviousness (also the cups of tea, so stupid, love them both)) ; I don’t know what to think about WY’s relationship with JC (I don’t like the later, he went too far for me) but I guess it’s good that they can rebuild someting ; the food decribed here looks wonderful and so tasty (I don’t know how much writing can embroider reality but if people can have this kind of experience while eating, well, let just said that I envy them a little bit (not too much eitheir, don’t want to be overwhelm after all))

“I’m just saying, if you ever needed money there’d be plenty, so don’t worry about—hey.” He scowls, whipping around to face her. “We’re not friends.”

    “Okay.”

    “I don’t have friends.”

    “Okay.”

“Xie Lian is the only one I give two shits about.”

“Hua Cheng,” Yushi Huang says gently, smiling. “It’s okay.”

The Rain Master befriends her local feral Ghost King—much to the Ghost King's chagrin.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I wasn’t aware I needed this friendship before I read it, they are just so sweet and caring (found family and queer platonic relationships vibes and those two things are a weakness of mine as much as a blessing for my heart) ; poor HC, so traumatized, of course you are allowed to care about other people than XL (that is the wonderful thing with love, you can add more people in your heart without disregarding the ones already here (but maybe it is a bit hypocrite of me to say that)) ; bonding over flowers and vegetables, growing trust like the fragile sprout it is
