    Summary

Unobserved and unknown to most, a bright star fell over the night sky to meet its end. Whilst in Hogwarts, Trelawney trembled with the force of a new prophecy:

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord is risen, born in a slaughter of souls, born as he thrice defies death...carnage will be his companion, as darkness will be his bride...a time shall come when the Serpent takes the world between Its jaws, demanding sacrifices promised...and none shall live as long as It prevails ...The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord is risen..."

In which a war between magic and the rest of the world destroyed everything Harry had ever known and loved. Traveling back in time, he will stop at nothing to carry out his vengeance.

As he stared down to the floor, he noticed that instead of worn-out shoes, there were black, polished ones instead. His clothes were different too; instead of his nightclothes, there were black long slacks, a dark shirt, and a robe with blue and silver adornments, covering everything up to his neck. His hands had white gloves too, he noticed, and he didn’t take them off in fear of letting them fall into the floor and ruin them.

A light weight rested on his head, he noticed, and when his hands reached up, he found cold metal and jewel. The diadem, he remembered.

“Thank you for the compliments, but I’m afraid we can’t bide too long with staring.” The man chuckled, and instantly Harry’s cheeks flushed. Just great, the mysterious man could read his mind. “And I rather that you call me Tom, darling.” He continued, gently taking his covered hand and bowing slightly, grazing his lips against his knuckles without taking his eyes away from Harry’s.

His breath caught for a second in his throat, the pull he felt when he went to bed coming back when the man kissed his hand in greeting.

“Don’t look at them, darling. Focus on me.” The tenor voice called him, holding his waist with one hand and his hand with another.

“First? How long do we have to dance for?” He asked a bit worried. It was nice the whole dancing, yes, but he wasn’t sure he could do much more than the simpler steps, and even so, he was sure that he was bound to fall any time soon.

“Until you want to. And you won’t fall, I’ll be here to catch you.” Tom's smile, even as halfway covered as it was, displayed such warmness he couldn’t help but relax against the embrace a bit. “There you go, just let go, dear,” Tom murmured as he continued guiding him as the music started to go crescendo, just in time to swirl him around not once, not twice, but even more and leave the thoughts in his mind a complete turmoil.

With two quick, loud strokes, the piece ended, and Tom held him close as the next piece started. Harry had a feeling that it would be a long, long night.

Each time a piece finished and he was about to loosen his grip, Tom only smiled charmingly and adjusted their position for the next piece, guiding him in different types of dances and making travel from one side of the room to the other.

“Now, don’t panic. You are just waking up, it can feel a bit strange.” He smiled reasuringly, knuckles brushing his cheek.

“I'll see you soon, it's a promise.” And with a last smile, everything vanished.

Like he couldn’t feel still the warm arms holding him close if he focused too much on it, or the weird longing sensation he felt when the mysterious man crossed his mind.

He reaches out—tucks a curl of Tom's hair behind his ear. Tom's dark eyes widen at the familiar gesture that Harry hasn't earned, but he doesn't pull away. He's not afraid of Harry. Good.

Harry glides the tip of his nose over the boy's cheekbone. "I have stated your terms correctly?"

"Yes," Tom breathes. A flush coats his sharp cheekbones, and his pupils are dilated. Harry's natural pheromones are affecting Tom—drawing him in, marking him as prey.

His friend, Abraxas, wishes to be kept apprised of "his lord's" locations while he is away, lest something happen to him.

My loyal fool, Tom thinks on more than one occasion.

I love him, thinks the other, every time his eyes land on Tom's, and every time they part.

"I can sense your hunger," Harry says in that enigmatic tone of his. "It has been days without my blood. You crave more?"

Tom lifts his chin in challenge. He won't be embarrassed, not when he knows how much Harry wants his blood in turn. "As if you don't crave mine?"

"Yes, I suppose it is something that I think about nearly every second of the day. And one such as I, who is not blessed with the sleep of a lower caste vampire, must content himself with strategies as to how not to kill you."

Notably, Harry hasn't needed a translation spell the entirety of their time in the city. His French is so flawless that the charmed ring is easily able to keep up with him, and he has yet to earn a single amused or annoyed look from native citizens.

He can't stop staring at the boy beneath him, but Tom doesn't seem to mind, simply tilting his head on the pillow and gazing back, as if they have all the time in the world.

    Perhaps they do.

"Should I take it off?" Tom drawls, as if he's not breathless and wanting from Harry's manhandling. As if he doesn't like to tease his daywalker.

"No." Harry kisses his way to Tom's ear. "Keep it. I like testing my control."

"And what if you lose it?"

But Harry just smiles at him. "I won't."

Casting the Portkey charm goes so simply that at first, Tom is confused. Of course, he is a powerful wizard, especially at such a young age, but he should feel at least partially drained.

    Harry's blood.

Tom's fingers tighten around the dragon plush. Such power. Such power, and he's throwing it all away. Why?

Who cares if you can't kill him, his darker, hungrier side hisses. The part of himself that ever longs for power, never satisfied. He cannot kill you, either. This is perfect.

Tom shuts his eyes and takes a deep breath.

    No. He must be strong.

Unfortunately, now that Harry isn't here, he's comparatively skint. Thanks to Abraxas, he has enough money to get through the trip he initially planned for himself, but he certainly can't afford a penthouse or lavish restaurants to dine at. For a moment, he is sorely tempted to find an owl post and write to Abraxas for more funds.

"I won't let you rest for the night in a hovel!" Abraxas would say. "Come with me, and we'll be very comfortable tonight. Don't worry, Tom. I have you."

Though Tom doesn't need Abraxas past monetary means, the thought of his loyalty warms him. He won't send for him. If somehow Harry finds Tom, he might hurt Abraxas, were he here and able to witness any intimacy between them. And while Tom finds the idea of that amusing, he cares for the Malfoy heir, in his own way. He would be saddened by Abraxas' death. Best to keep him safely out of harm's way, then.

    Very exciting concept :trembling:
We'll see how much you can control yourself, Harry :kek:
Edit: not well, apparently. folded like a wet cracker

Sirius Black falls through the Veil. Harry Potter, with a constant refusal to lose, to let those he loves die, follows.

They come out the other side; inserting themselves into a world that is their own, but different. There is something blatantly and disgustingly wrong here. Tom Riddle is president. Harry Potter is his right-hand man. Sirius Black is in love with the wrong man.

And it seems Harry is too.

In other words: Harry Potter tries to get back to his world, and Tom Riddle finds him so interesting he does not want to let him.

    ...

Tom's eyes are narrowed. "Tell me, Harry. What is that?"

"This," Harry weighs the heavy thing in his hand, "is a gun."

"It's not Auror issued," Tom states, cautious and almost, Harry would say, if he didn't know better, betrayed.

"No," says Harry. "It's not. It's Muggle."

Tom eyes him. Considers if he can run, if he can fight -- but he's always admired Harry's muscles, in his own fucked up sort of way. This is not a fight he can win. There is nowhere to run.

"Are you going to shoot me, Harry?"

    "What do you think?"

"I think," says Tom, almost too quiet to hear, "you love me."
