Summary
It felt like there were holes in Mary's memories, like some were missing and others were carefully fabricated lies. On the worst days, it made her feel empty. She never talked about these memory holes; she didn’t want to worry anyone, it was probably nothing. Her mum had always said she had an overactive imagination, and it was no secret that she had bad anxiety. Her anxiety was better than what it used to be, she was an active member of society now, at least. She had noticed, though, that the gaps only really started after 1971.
