Summary
Because there were holes in the wall in the shape of a smile, a hole in John's chest in the shape of his heart, a hole in the world in the shape of a detective, and a hole in the ground in the shape of a coffin. And Sherlock would only be filling one of those holes from now on. The wrong one, John thought dully. It was the wrong one.
Or: a series of short moments I wrote down whenever the inspiration struck about how John might've felt and reacted to Sherlock's death.

Summary
In which Dwarves and Hobbits seem to have nothing in common (but, as it happens, they do), Bilbo is frustrated with Thorin (this is not news to anyone), and Bofur is a good friend (and, slightly unwittingly, Bilbo's means to get revenge on Thorin).

Summary
Bilbo Baggins thought himself quite prepared to turn down any prospective adventures, but, as it happens, he is unprepared for the combined effect of a meddling wizard, thirteen hungry dwarves, and his own traitorous heart.
Or: I've always been a bit bothered by how Bilbo says "that is a book, not a coaster!" to one of dwarves, but then in the scene where Gandalf tries to convince him to go on the adventure, he puts his mug down on the book resting on the arm of his chair. So this is my attempt to explain how that happened :)
