Summary
She chews on Chue's question for a moment longer. She does want to examine the blade, but they couldn't very well bring it to Jinshi's room and, though she refuses to examine the emotion any further than simply acknowledging it's there, there's a gnawing anxiety that floods her stomach at the thought of leaving even for a little while.
Chue seems to understand this, because she raises her hand in a stiff and sturdy, almost theatrical salute. "Don't you worry about the Moon Prince, Miss Maomao! Miss Suiren will keep His Highness company while we're gone!"
Curiosity and reason go to war with that innocuous, indomitable fear for a moment longer before curiosity wins out. Maomao sighed, promising to herself that she wouldn't be long before shoving down the anxiety into a locked box in her gut carefully labeled 'do not touch' where she resolves never to think of it again.
"Let's go, then," she acquiesces, and Chue leads the way out of Jinshi's residence.

Summary
It's unsettling, to be read so easily. Maybe these people he's surrounded himself with for so long now know him well enough, though. Enough that his affections are not so easily dismissed as a passing muse, a momentary fascination.
Maybe they're finally realizing he's always been serious about this particular endeavor.
In a way it's gratifying. In a way it's mortifying.
"Master Jinshi, what are you still doing in your office?" Jinshi almost thinks he's hallucinating, indulging in a fantasy and rather vivid daydream as the voice he so wanted to hear suddenly speaks up. He blinks. Once, twice, and the slight narrowing of her eyes, brows furrowed into a tiny scowl is enough to tell him he isn't dreaming. He smiles.

"Who did this to you?" Feng Xin asks, and his voice sounds strained. Mu Qing can't tell why he would possibly sound like that.
"I didn't know where else to go," Mu Qing says instead of answering before promptly collapsing to the ground, only to be caught by a pair of arms. They're strong, and he thinks Feng Xin says something, but he's already losing consciousness, far too gone to make out what the words might be. All he knows is the world around him is getting darker and it’s so strange how safe he feels right now. Why did he come here again..? He can’t remember…

This isn't real. It can't be real. Feng Xin's fine, he's alright, just unconscious. He'll get up as soon as he gets medicine, Mu Qing tries to tell himself, fully aware of the fact that these are not rational thoughts aligned with the scene right in front of his eyes. He has to try to believe them, though, or else he might just lose his mind entirely.
