Summary
Soul declined the call to action, too pressured to pursue the Piano, as his parents always wished. He feels constricted by the endeavour for perfection and finds himself rooted in his brother’s shadow no mater how much he tries to step out of it.
Maka has seen a very different world and has found herself settling for being a bodyguard for diplomatic events. The DWMA has had to expand their other divisions, with pre-Kishin activity the lowest it’s ever been. Unsure of what to do with herself after falling short of her dreams, she follows her sometimes partner Tsugumi into a role which she excels at but has little love for.
There’s a repressed darkness building inside both of them which calls to the other and they find themselves connecting with the one person who seems to bring clarity and light into their world.
