Gina had only ever known sadness growing up, that is before she moved to seaside heights when she was 12 with her brother, Jet. Gina was always moving because she was a foster kid, no mom, no dad and no feeling of consistency. But she did have the feeling of getting to start over again, even if she had the feeling every few months or so. She also had the feeling that seaside heights was gonna be different, some how she just knew.

Gina rolls her eyes and doesn't say anything in response, but instead walks her way into a standing position, hands gripping the chains of the swing, all signs pointing to her next move. He doesn't budge though, plants his feet and works up a smirk again.
Again, Gina doesn't back down. So she kicks her legs and lets herself fly free, she plants her feet just as she reaches Ricky's face, their noses touch. "Move", Gina states, not bite but she makes her point transparent.
"Tell me your name", he says and smiles in the same way, like he has power over her. A Ricky/Gina childhood friends AU, in where their just like, always there for eachother...

Ricky raised an eyebrow.
“Like a gift?” And Gina briefly wondered how a smile could be so dreamy and boyish at the same time “your gifts are always the best”
“Here” she handed him the bag suddenly embarrassed because what if it was ridiculous -surely it was no near an entire birthday cake or a moon rock and it wasn’t as symbolic as a lottery ticket but she had felt bad all day and she really wanted to do something for him but didn’t know if he would let her or if it would be fair on both of them or…(Wow. Stop rambling Gina)
But Ricky’s face lit up when he finally unpacked the cute little pink cupcake, like somehow it was the entire moon she was offering him and she felt her breath catch.
or 5 times Gina celebrates Ricky’s birthday + one time they might have just a little bit more to celebrate.
