Summary
Eddie squints into the bright sunlight flooding the kitchen. He’s eating a bowl of lucky charms that taste like chemicals and fake sugar and he’s not even sure he’s going to make it to the end of the first mouthful. The texture is grainy and artificially chewy and Eddie is sure he used to like these.
Steve, the guy in Eddie’s house, sits himself opposite with neat little piles of scrambled eggs and cut fruit on his plate. He looks at Eddie, gets up again, pulls the blind just far enough that Eddie’s eyes are shaded, and then comes back to his breakfast.
“Can I get you anything?”
“You can get the fuck out of my house,” Eddie replies. But there’s no bite. No meaning. No energy. No anything behind the words. He’s so fucking tired and so done with it all.
Steve carries on like Eddie hasn’t spoken, and eats his breakfast.

Steve’s grip tightens on his arm, bracing for the fragile moment to break, but what Bucky says is, “Did you mean it?” with his chin tucked to his chest. “You still mine tonight?”
Steve’s startled laugh bounces off the cobblestones. He knows from Bucky’s glower, the color high on his cheeks, that whatever game he’s playing at, Steve isn’t following the rules.
“I’m sorry!” he says, tugging Bucky back to his body. Quieter, with their faces so close, “I’m sorry. But Jesus Christ, Buck, that was a stupid question.”

“This dish is a little cheesy, but it still tastes grate,” Bucky says with a completely straight face; his looks made even more menacing by the permanent murder-face he naturally has, but then you have to subtract from the Scary because of the yellow polka dot apron he has around his neck and tied around his waist, and then there is always the bright blue scrunchy tying half of his hair into a messy bun at the top of his head.
Steve tries to cover his mouth casually with one hand to suppress a laugh, and looks down at the sheet of paper in his other hand that contains the recipe they should be following. He squints at it, like he’s trying to figure something important out, because if Bucky sees him laugh, his bad puns are only going to get worse, much to the thrill of their viewers.

Summary

A sketch for chapter 5 of Kalee60's story "The large and the smol of it" which was so hot and inspiring I had to stop what I was doing and draw this. Notably, my very first time drawing Shrinkyclinks, and also first proper drawing of pre-serum Steve so I'm not quite sure he turned out alright ?
