Summary
Long-time Jumper, Skip, has just finished up his latest Jump for a show he'd kinda liked- great fanservice, but the plot kinda annoyed him. He sidelined the canon protagonist to take that jerk's place, and more importantly his waifus, and set off to the next Jump to do it all over again.
This isn't his story.
Rose Corcoran, born Joe Norman, was destined for great things, until a man arrived from outside the universe to take her stuff before she realized she had anything worth taking. And on the last day of Skip's stay in her world, she shows up to a job interview with Jump-Chan, receiving a simple offer: get her own abbreviated Jumpchain to collect power and allies, and at the end of it, fight the man who'd taken so much from her. If she wins, she can take it all back.
Rose doesn't particularly want to "take back" anything Skip has, but considering what he's willing to do in pursuit of his own selfish desires, she's perfectly on-board with kicking his ass and taking his stuff away.
