Summary
“I’m sorry, I-” Cody stutters and instinctively takes a step back until his back hits the wall.
“I’m sorry, what?” Molenda towers over him now, caging him in, with very little regard for Cody’s personal space. Well, not that he minds, but it’s a bit unexpected for sure.
“I’m sorry … Sir?” He guesses. The officer has never placed great importance on ranks and titles.
The man’s hand, rough and warm, lies firm on Cody’s cheek, his thumb running over his lower lip.
“Good boy,” Molenda says with a smirk, and Cody fears his legs might give out.
Due to a transporter malfunction, ensign Cody Paulsen finds himself in an unknown, hostile environment that mirrors his own reality uncannily. “How do you feel?” Friyis asks, her PADD ready in hand.
“A bit dizzy,” Iamek admits. “But mostly just too warm and sweaty.”
“Yeah, me too.” Friyis writes down the observation. “Anything else? Pain? Loss of senses? Numbness? Hallucinations?”
“I got this sharp pain right here,” Iamek taps his forehead, “but that might just be you asking me all of these questions.”
“Oh, I’m sorry for being concerned with your well-being,” she snaps back with a wink, “I’ll stop immediately.”
On an excursion to Charis IV, xenobontanist Friyis Ajad and engineer Iamek Molenda from the USS Antheia encounter a strange flower and quarantine after coming in contact with its pollen.
