Summary
A series of letters over a year- letters of hopes, of dreams, of everything in between. And maybe, in between crossed-out sentences and unspoken thoughts, the promise of a love story lies in wait.
Truly, it was not my intention to deceive you; if I could have done so, I wish that we could have met, not under the circumstances we are in, but as Zhongli, a mere employee in the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, and Childe, a diplomat hailing from Snezhnaya, and that maybe then, our time together would not have been tainted by such mistrust and deception.
Childe, I bear no grudge, and no sorrow. Although I have lost many over the years, I implore you to take care of yourself, now that you are once again alone in a foreign land.
I will not bother you with the ramblings of one that has lived too long, and I will end this letter now. Happy Moonchase Festival, Childe. May the moon watch over you, and know that my thoughts always lie with you.

It was merely the top half of the Gnosis — which should’ve been whole in the first place. Instead, it was split in two with the location of the second half unknown. Not even the Tsaritsa had warned the Harbingers of such a possibility.
“This was not part of the contract.”
“I said I would give you my Gnosis and I have.”
She glared at Zhongli. “Where’s the other half?”
Zhongli remained silent.

Summary
Childe had always assumed that he would die young. He had accepted that a long time ago, ever since he accepted the mantle of a Fatui Harbinger. However, he always thought that he would die in a glorious fight, his body broken but spirit relishing the strong opponent that had bested him. He was okay with that type of death.
Unfortunately, it seemed like Fate had decided to add one last insult to injury, because, here Childe was, dying because he had fallen in love with the ex-Geo Archon. The same Archon who seemed to have discarded him like an old toy ever since the Osial Incident.
