Billy asks voice low despite their closeness and Steve could probably pretend he did not hear him with the way Dustin is shouting as Max manages a hole in one. Mike and Lucas are both looking at El with suspicion, she ignores them just rolling her eyes.
“We’re not exactly friends.” They are not, they are amicable since Billy found out about the upside down but that does not make them friends.
“Maybe not but we could be real friendly,” There is something in his tone that has Steve’s blood pumping faster that heat back in his belly, Steve tries to shake it off, it is all in his head “come on pretty boy, let’s make things a little more interesting. Unless you’re a coward.”
Steve scrunches his face up, he is not going to fall for this blatant coercion except he is already opening his mouth and doing exactly that. “What’s the bet?”
