    “I’ve got you,” she whispered, pillowing her head on his shoulder and gently touching their heads together like a stilted kiss. His internal clock failed him, and eons seemed to pass before she hauled him up with her, gently murmuring to him as though coaxing a spooked rabbit. The water was hot against his bare skin, but he could still feel her heat from where she sat behind him in the basin.

    She smiled against the skin of his neck when his head lolled, sweetly building up a lather that let him feel her calluses against his scalp.
