    In the middle of a dirt wasteland, Tommy stands before the Hermitcraft firewall, not knowing that his life is about to change…

    Tommy hacks into Hermitcraft, and finds himself in the middle of dark schemes, otherworldly plots, and unexpected friendships… and throw some genloss in there too cause hey, the lore could always use more complexity.

    In another world, maybe Tommy goes back. In another he seeks help - Techno, Sam, even Tubbo. Sometimes it goes well. Sometimes, it goes incredibly wrong. It doesn't matter, because in this world, Tommy turns his back on the ocean, on Logstedshire, and he turns his back on the Tundra. He takes Mexican Dream's nearly broken set of armor, Tubbo's compass, his photos. A stone pickaxe he's just crafted and a sword that could help him against mobs. Two loaves of breads he created from the wheat he just took from the nearby village. An apple that fell from a birch tree, a bit old and weird but still good. His ender chest, with everything inside. He doesn't turn back, even if he wants too, and Tommy disappears in the forest nearby, and start running.

    ----------

    In which Tommy never goes to Technoblade but, instead, escapes exile by running away, and ends up adopting some children who needed help just like him.

     

    This story is about fictional characters, it's not RPF.

    Sam rescues Tommy from the prison, and no one knows he's died. Everything is too loud, too bright, too much. He is bombarded with sensory information, struggling to process it after the nothingness of the Afterlife. It take him three days to leave his house. He's been gone for two weeks, and he hopes that someone has noticed, but on a trip to the hotel he halts as he sees another hotel beside it. And there in the doorway, with matching rings on their fingers and laughing without a care in the world, are Ranboo and Tubbo.

    Tommy's been forgotten.

    But over the next few weeks, Niki and Jack seek him out. Sometimes individually, sometimes together, but Tommy is always delighted to see them no matter what they do. Who cares about the murder attempts? They're seeking him out! They want to spend time with him, clearly. Tommy misses them; they were friends before New L'Manberg, and he's happy to have them back as friends again.

     

    Or,

    I really love guilty villains lol and so Tommy befriends Jack and Niki even as they continually try and kill him until they start questioning their choices. (And Tommy knows about it but what's a little pain when he gets friends in exchange?)

    Besides, these footsteps were different. They were very distinctly not Etho’s.
    Tango cursed to himself, running frantically through a list of Hermits in his head - who walked like that? - and squeezed shut his eyes, shivering despite himself.
    The footsteps stopped.

    Tango opened his eyes.

    There was a boy in Decked Out.
    There was a boy in Decked Out, who was very clearly not a Hermit.

    OR!

    The ground was approaching. Tommy’s hands opened in the air, reached out, tensed, clawed, like he was trying to catch something.
    Like somebody was reaching out to him.
    His fingers clasped around nothing, reached again, stretching out in his efforts to clasp onto the hand-

    And for one, crucial moment, he did.

    It fizzled at his fingertips, shocking all the way up his arm, and he tightened his hold on it and pulled.
    The world went dark.
