Summary
All Might had the same meeting with Deku 10 years previous, just shortly after his battle with All for One. All Might was much more bitter, much harsher on a kid who was just looking for a way to survive. The injury was too fresh and he wasn’t focused on a successor back then. Izuku was told in no uncertain terms that he would never be a hero. But that doesn’t mean that he’ll stop being heroic. All Might was right, you can still help people without being a hero.
In fact, there are many, many ways to do it.
Izuku has found just about all of them.

“Subconsciously, I think it was a fuck you to All Might or the universe. It was either that or throw myself off the nearest roof. So my brain opted for self preservation.” The analyst chuckles wryly, “even if that just meant keeping myself and others alive out of sheer spite.”
Deku’s shoulders drop in a halting shrug, “Whatever worked, I suppose.”
“You’ve saved a lot of people,” Shouta breathes and Hizashi's eyes burn as Deku looks away, “Saved lives. Helped these kids, this community-“
“But I’m no hero,” his gnarled fingers splay wide, shaking in almost mocking jazz hands. Voice bitter but resigned, practiced.
It was heartbreaking.

Summary

All Might fought All for One after returning to Japan from his time abroad in the USA. He lost most of his stomach and respiratory system, but he still won. Izuku Midoriya was safe at home during that fight, miles from the showdown.
"I'm supposed to be the guy who's always smiling, right?"
What if... All Might didn't walk out of that fight?

Or, All Might transfers One for All to a young Izuku. All for One, desperate to regain his brother's quirk, hunts Izuku across Japan. Gaining help from the vestiges, a tired Eraserhead, a confused Shinsou, a parental Giran, and an exasperated Dabi - Izuku is exhausted from living his life in fear and tries for the first time in years to make a home. -

Summary
An intruder is sitting on the bed with Dabi’s bag in front of him, sorting through Dabi’s possessions. He’s around Dabi’s age, with sandy hair and a pair of red-feathered wings stretching out on either side of him.
He looks up at Dabi with a complete lack of surprise,
“So the Midoriyas took in another stray, huh?”
