Slipping out from under Poe's arm, Karl nudged his nose into Poe's forehead before reeling back in surprise. Poe's forehead was hot to the touch. Gingerly, Karl touched his nose to Poe's cheek, letting out a faint whine of distress when he felt the same heat. That was definitely bad, and Karl didn't know what to do.

“You ruined me!” Poe's eerie voice raised not to a yell, but intimidating and emotionally distraught enough to cause the placid tenseness of the man in his grasp’s muscles to be replaced by a full body tremor.
“You ruined my life,” he said softly, hands trembling slightly as his grasp tightened, shaking Ranpo’s arms erratically with his painful grip. His captive tried to conceal his shaking pinned below him, clenching his fists in a show of desperate resolute, silent.

“I…” Ranpo starts, before hesitating. Poe doesn’t like this look on him. Ranpo’s supposed to be confident, sure of himself.
Not curling in on himself.
“I-” Ranpo starts again, before he’s interrupted by another particularly loud ‘boom!’ of thunder, paired with an accompanying flash of lightning. He flinches, his grip tightening on the blanket as his brow furrows slightly.
And Poe suddenly has a very sudden realization.
‘Oh.’
“...I…can’t sleep alone during storms.”
‘Oh.’
OR
Ranpo stays over at Poe's one night due to a storm. Cuddling ensues.
