Summary
“Did you want to be alone when you left?” Superman redirects his words like it’s not a direct hit that comes with more force than a punch. Like it’s a simple question one person might ask of another.
Did you want to be alone?
It stutter-steps his thoughts. Did Lex want to be? Irrelevant. It was just a given.
Except here he is, Superman. His knight in shining armor. Saving universes, cats, and Lex from the emptiness of his existence.
