Summary
Summer 1985. The Cold War burns across the planet, as the two great superpowers vie for ideological domination. This fire burns greatest in the green plains of Central Germany, where NATO and the Warsaw Pact stand locked in a fragile peace, divided only by an Iron Curtain that stretches across the continent.
This peace is shattered when the curtain is broken- forces pour in through the Fulda Gap, starting the war that so many had feared for decades. But the invading army is not what anyone has ever expected. The hordes of Soviet armor formations are absent- replaced by an army of Legions and Wyverns, slaughtering it's way through the German countryside. The Saderan Empire raids the East and West alike, looting the strange riches of this world, before being thwarted by the numerous PACT and NATO forces present.
Having defeated the incursion, the superpowers set their sights on the two mysterious Gates that remain. Fueled by rage and and a strive for resources, the Soviet Union and the United States prepare to enter a new world.

Summary
Due to the fact that Izuku couldn't become a Hero to save the civilians from everyday villains, he does the next best thing at the time, with some advice from All Might himself. He becomes a soldier for the Japanese Military. He learns every single language he can, every martial art, and learns how to shoot every kind of weapon just to become strong enough to be a Hero in his own way. Without the need for a license.
He gets found by Taskforce 141 whilst on a mission to protect a high value target for an enemy militia in Somalia. He was protecting the Somalian President when he and his entire squad were attacked by Somalian Ultranationalists killing most of his squamates leaving him injured and nearly dead. That was when he first met Captain Price and was subsequently brought onto Taskforce 141.
It was two years into Izuku's time within Taskforce 141, about a month before Price disappeared, that he was sent on a mission. General Shepard wanted Izuku to protect the next upcoming descendants of Heroes for the International School UA High. And he allowed Izuku to do everything in his power to keep those kids safe.
Failure isn't an option. It's kill or be killed.

The Fall of Cadia did much to the morale of the Imperium. As the Cicatrix Maledictum and its recurring Warp-Storms opened, one such storm caught, at the whim of a higher being, a Regiment of almost 5,000 soldiers more young than most you'd see in the Guard, shipping them to a new world, with new threats and, perhaps, a chance at Retribution.
