Summary
Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl but doesn’t exactly contain all of the characters or scenes. Yuugi Mutou, the young daughter of Governor Sugoroku Mutou, is the fiancé of Duke Akhenamkhanen Sennen’s son, Atemu Sennen. Not all appears fine as their engagement seems to mean nothing to Atemu. As ruthless pirates attack Port Domino, pillaging the town as well as kidnapping Yuugi along the way, Atemu may finally discover what he was blind to all this time. Atemu must gather his friends and soldiers to hunt down the rogue pirate ship, the Black Death, in hopes of saving his fair maiden and bring justice to the pirates before all of young Yuugi's blood is split.
WARNINGS: Fem!Yuugi, Fem!Ryou, Fem!Malik, Fem!Jou, blood, and language. SPOILERS for those who have not seen Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
NOTE: I revised Chapter 1 again as I missed a major part of the plot (i.e. when Yuugi puts on the medallion). I also added an illustration that I drew back when I first premiered this story and a link to an image of Yuugi's engagement ring.

Ten years after the Ceremonial Duel, Yugi goes to Egypt to see a newly discovered statue of Atem.
I saw a really gorgeous art of Yugi and a statue of Atem and my little worm brain said "Hey remember Hercules (1997) and the statue of Zeus coming to life" and here we are. I will link the art if I get permission ♡

Summary
In the real world, Yugi and the Pharaoh had an unbreakable link. They could hear whatever thoughts they chose to pass to the other, and also have at least an idea of any emotions the other was feeling. They could sense the other's concern, pride, fear, and excitement, even if the thoughts behind the emotion weren't clearly vocalized.
In the soul rooms, this connection made their emotions seem like completely shared experiences. With their hearts as close as they could be, it was almost like the early days of their partnership again; they were one and the same, and each emotion was shared, no matter how small or mundane.

Summary
Atem has spent the vast majority of his existence confined within the Millennium Puzzle. Now that he's able to live a life with Yugi in the big wide world, it makes sense he'd feel off-kilter. Yugi and he need to find a way to recreate the feeling of safety he's so desperately lacking.
