Summary
Galinda faces a lot of attention problems, this is one of those trials:
Galinda is smart. There's a but. Whenever something grows to be tedious (to her at least), she steps into a lack of attentiveness.
But right now, in "The Book Place": same case, different cause. Elphaba is within her range of sight, and so Galinda steps into the same lack thereof. Elphaba read to her the materials Galinda ought to study for tomorrow's exam, it wasn't exactly tedious, no; she couldn't help but steal glances at her ever so beautiful girlfriend in between her reverie.

When she was getting dressed. Doing her hair. Picking out shoes. All the small things she used to love—the rituals, the tiny flourishes. She still did them, of course. She still looked her best. But it felt more like getting into character now, like preparing to be seen instead of simply being.
But then Elphaba would say, ‘You look pretty’, and Galinda would smile. Because when Elphaba said it, and looked at her like that she could almost forget the difference.

“Fiyero, darling,” Galinda hums primly, giving an arch look as she emphasizes the term of endearment like a curse, “are you harassing my poor, sweet Elphie?”
“He's behaving,” she manages to muddle out, though she can't quite stop staring at Galinda’s lips, “As much as Yero ever does, anyway.”
Fiyero pulls her closer, arm around Elphaba's shoulders. He just has to be difficult. Elphaba can’t manage to bring her eyes away from Galinda’s lips to examine his expression, but she can hear the amused, shit-eating grin on his lips. “Afraid of a little competition, Galinda, darling?”

Fiyero thinks Elphie needs to relax, so like a good friend, he sets off Galinda's possessive streak to ensure she'll get thoroughly laid. Because, really, isn't that what friends are for? Meddling in their lesbian ex's relationships?
