Summary
"What are we gonna do with all these losers? It's such a damn waste, I want to play another game. But these broken toys are the only ones I've got to work with. Oh, well. Do you think the dead can feel despair?"
After two killing games, twenty of Hope's Peak's best and brightest lie dead. Or, do they? The deceased murderers and victims from Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despiar wake up in a strange castle, sealed off from the outside, with fresh memories of how they died. Then, Monokuma appears, with an impossible promise: "One of you can return to live the life you lost. But only if you can kill one of your friends, and only if you can get away with it."
New motives, new trials, and a new mystery await the losers of the Killing School Life and Killing School Field Trip. Can Monokuma's promise be trusted at all? Just where are they, and why can they remember their own deaths? How will they prevail, without the likes of Makoto, Kyoko, Hajime, or Chiaki to guide them?
Chihiro Fujisaki finds themselves grappling with the tragedy of their death, and the betrayal of their friend Mondo. But, before they can work through that, the first murder happens, and Chihiro is caught in the middle of it.
