"After what felt like an eternity, the pain began to ebb from a razor-sharp stab to a burning throb. He took another deep, steadying breath. It wasn’t enough to banish the pain, but it was enough to give him the strength to endure it.
He opened his eyes and met his own reflection in the looking glass. Beads of sweat ran from his brow, his hair damp with it. The veins on his face were dark under his skin, darkening around his left eye where the mark of the orb was a glow, trailing beneath the facial hair that he’d let grow out over the last few days, then snaking down his neck and wrapping around his heart center. It throbbed with light. A warning, a curse, a physical manifestation of the thing within him threatening to boil over and consume him.
The only part of the image that resembled the man he’d been but a few short days ago glinted at his ear, his spell focus, Mystra’s star. It had been days and his magic had not returned. He’d finally coaxed Mystra’s last words from Tara. His Goddess had abandoned him.He was truly and utterly alone."

Summary
The title is a reference to Edmund Spenser’s Amoretti LXXV: ‘One day I wrote her name upon the strand’
Vasco's life has a clear horizon, his course set - life on the sea, aspirations to one day be Admiral. Until the storm, they call the Legate of the Congregation of Merchants consumes him, and bit by bit the sea alone is not enough.
This fic intends to follow De Sardet's & Vasco's story through Greedfall. The reader is advised mature content is planned for later chapters when the action picks up. Archive warnings will update accordingly.
****1st, 2nd, and 3rd chapters have received some heavy additions/edits for more context. 4th chapter is finished and starting chapter 5.

Summary
A year has passed since Tav and her companions defeated the Netherbrain. Starting a new life in Waterdeep with Gale, Tav tries to move forward with her partner. Unfortunately, her decision to help ascend Astarion during their adventure has plagued her with remorse, haunting her almost every night.

Enough to have let Tara coddle her those first few days. Enough to have sobbed into Morena Dekarios’ waiting arms. Enough to speak to him every evening from the balcony he had promised they would share. Enough to have started reading each of his books, knowing his fingers had touched every page. Enough to imagine all the ways he might’ve reacted to the news of his impending fatherhood. The latter she lingers on more than she would like, for it only gives way to other, saccharine fantasies she knows will never come to fruition.

Summary
After the fall of the Netherbrain, Tav's home in Baldur's Gate was destroyed and Gale offers his tower as a temporary place for her to rest and heal. A very slow-burn romance starts to bloom, while Tav (named Iluviel) struggles to be ready after the things Astarion did to her.

Lots of D&D lore and (mostly canonical) Waterdeep worldbuilding went into this fic that follows both Gale and Iluviel through their daily lives inside and outside of the wizard's tower.
