    Summary

A year has passed since Tav and her companions defeated the Netherbrain. Starting a new life in Waterdeep with Gale, Tav tries to move forward with her partner. Unfortunately, her decision to help ascend Astarion during their adventure has plagued her with remorse, haunting her almost every night.

Little does she know, her ex-lover feels trapped in the past as well. Tav had ended their fling with compassionate intent, thinking he needed a friend and not a lover. In his ascended form, Astarion sees the world plainly: You either want him, fear him, or are mocking him. His resentment and sense of humiliation festers into something unbearable as he imagines Tav's perfect life with her new lover. He decides to take back what he sees as his...

In which Tav believes the latest symptom of her grief is the hallucination of her lost love.

Or, Gale finds himself unexpectedly resurrected.

    ------

Gods, she hates him. Hates him bitterly for leaving her behind. And Gods, how she loves him, still. Enough to have dragged herself to Waterdeep, as per his wishes. Enough to have let Tara coddle her those first few days. Enough to have sobbed into Morena Dekarios’ waiting arms. Enough to speak to him every evening from the balcony he had promised they would share. Enough to have started reading each of his books, knowing his fingers had touched every page. Enough to imagine all the ways he might’ve reacted to the news of his impending fatherhood. The latter she lingers on more than she would like, for it only gives way to other, saccharine fantasies she knows will never come to fruition.

    Summary

Tav is a bhaalspawn. She was made to be used. Not to choose. Not to wonder. Not to want.

    Gale disagrees—especially regarding the latter.

Or: After the defeat of the Netherbrain, Withers places a majorly suicidal and unkillable Tav into Gale’s care. You know, for fate reasons.

    Summary

After the fall of the Netherbrain, Tav's home in Baldur's Gate was destroyed and Gale offers his tower as a temporary place for her to rest and heal. A very slow-burn romance starts to bloom, while Tav (named Iluviel) struggles to be ready after the things Astarion did to her.

    ~

Lots of D&D lore and (mostly canonical) Waterdeep worldbuilding went into this fic that follows both Gale and Iluviel through their daily lives inside and outside of the wizard's tower.

    ~

Readers said about this fic: "This fic has had me in a chokehold from Day 1. The most deliciously slowest of slow burns, yet with enough intensity and cliffhangers to keep me racing back to it as soon as a new chapter alert comes out. The world-building that has happened in this fic surpasses just about all of the other fics I've read to date, with the imagery and scenery so beautifully written I could imagine myself sitting right in the kitchen along with Gale, Tara, and Iluviel, dodging pots and pans 😁"

    Summary

Gale Dekarios, a wizard of intentionally limited reknown, has taken up residence in the scenic (and suspiciously quiet) Elven enclave of Evereska. There, he spends his days contemplating the mysteries of the Weave and wondering what he did to deserve a three-year-old daughter like Lirelle—who, according to ancient maternal prophecy (i.e., the dreaded Mother’s Curse), is living proof that “one day, you will have a child who acts exactly like you.”
