“Again, you can refuse,” Alex reminds him. “I thought, um, I thought that we could just not fuck until we film that scene? We shoot in, what? Three weeks? I just think that it will come across as more authentic. Our characters would look fucking desperate because we would be. Imagine all that unresolved tension.”
Henry pulls away, leaning back to support himself on his elbows. He looks at Alex consideringly, and Alex stares back, settling his weight on Henry’s thighs, waiting it out.
“Three weeks,” Henry says, tracing a finger over Alex’s shin. “I don’t think we’ve gone that long without sleeping together ever since we’ve gotten together.”
“We haven’t,” Alex agrees. “Now, imagine how that’d look on screen, baby. We’d leave everyone speechless.”

He yells for his driver but doesn’t hear a response. He yells and he yells until he can’t even tell if he’s hearing himself.
He tries to open his door but it’s destroyed. Bent beyond recognition.
The door to the other side opens and Henry lets out a sigh of relief.
“Benjamin, thank Christ,” Henry croaks. He crawls over to the open door and feels two strong arms lift him out of the car. He didn’t realize how woozy he was becoming until he couldn’t stand and slumped into Benjamin’s hold.
“Easy there,” Benjamin says.
Only, it isn’t his driver, Benjamin.
It’s Alex.

Alex downs his drink and orders another quickly. He’s early. He spent the afternoon in a four hour meeting and then his boss told him to go home and that he could finish the paperwork tomorrow. Which isn’t weird or new, but Alex sort of wishes he had an excuse not to be here.
It’s just that his mom asked. And he’s never been able to say no to her. Even when he doesn’t fucking understand her choices.
She’d never been to England, and yet she ended up with a British soulmate.
