To hell with self-preservation. Alec cleared his throat and squeezed his hand around hers. God only knew how long she had been sitting like this, hunched over in the shitty plastic chair, holding his hand. She looked up, and the relief that filled her face, however obvious, was short-lived.
“I am going to absolutely murder you!” She wept and crumpled, bursting into big, heaving waves of tears that flooded her beautiful face.
