Summary

But a mysterious man known only as the Red Skull rescues him from his fate, keeping the grieving baron from dying.
Only unbeknownst to him, Helmut is being used as a bargaining chip, in a deal with his childhood friend that was not going in his favor. And is the unfortunate target of a lesson he never knew about.
This fic takes place in the reality where Hydra!Cap came from after the events of the flashbacks, where Helmut was his best friend.
