“Aoi! Aoi!” Sasuke exclaims, his excitement matching his son’s giggles as he holds the boy in his lap.
The three-year-old claps his chubby hands and bounces with joy, standing on Sasuke’s lap as they watch Naruto perform on a massive flat-screen TV backstage at a stadium.
“See Momma?” Sasuke says, pointing at the screen.
Naruto’s voice fills the room, clear and commanding as the crowd roars in the background. Sasuke grins at Aoi’s enthusiasm before focusing on the performance himself. “Look at my pooch shine,” he murmurs under his breath, his pride evident.
When the song ends, Sasuke sets Aoi down beside him. “Let’s go see Momma backstage,” he says, standing up. Aoi nods eagerly and jumps off the couch, following Sasuke.
Sasuke puts on a pair of black sunglasses and takes Aoi’s hand, leading him through the long, empty hallway toward the backstage area. One hand in his pocket, Sasuke walks with his eyes closed, savoring the moment.
Footsteps approach from the opposite direction, and Sasuke opens his eyes to see Neji heading their way. Neji’s lead guitar is slung across his back, and his hands are buried in his pockets.
