I was really disappointed that they just washed up on the beach, as if they hadn't almost died a few hours ago. I love JJ and Sarah’s friendship and the fact that he saved her and her baby from drowning while his own mom died “drowned with her baby” is insane to me and I wish they had explored it more and shown us how they survived and how they managed to find the others."Here we are!!! a VERY long fic about how JJ and Sarah survived the storm in 4x09, and how they eventually got back to The Pogues.

JJ’s voice cuts through the silence. It’s low, and shaky, as if he’s worried that if he speaks any louder, Rafe and Barry will be right back on their doorstep.
“John B?”
Sarah and John B turn to look at the other boy in synchrony, and Sarah’s stomach drops. The side of his gray shirt is blossoming crimson, and she can see the blood seeping through the fingers that are pressed against his wound.
The gunshot. The inevitable feeling of liquid sliding down her face and arm immediately after. The lack of injury on her own body and JJ, perched above her in the only spot for that sequence of events to happen the way they did. Her stomach turns.
