Summary
The Lord of Mordor wanted the elf to be clean, so that’s what you did. Grime and blood sloughed away from his skin, revealing the raised scars and half healed wounds underneath. Every part of his body seemed to have been touched by some cruelty. You’d experienced beatings and floggings yourself, seen the scars on older servants. You’d even watched injured soldiers return from skirmishes. None of them had looked like this. Whoever this elf was, he must have upset the Dark Lord greatly.
He must have pleased the Dark Lord greatly too, to be brought here.

Summary
“No,” Maitimo says. “Kano, get out of here. You need to leave, now.”
“Quiet,” Makalaure snaps as he catches Maitimo’s wrist. He jerks it forward, and Maitimo winces as his shoulder jostles. “I’m not leaving you.”
Maedhros receives a visitor in Angband. It does not end well.

Summary
Janus couldn’t be sure where he was, not yet; for all he knew, he could be in a pocket of the Subconscious, some shadowed crevice where his darkest fears had taken form. Vengeance from Roman, maybe, or a trick from Remus.
Oh, who was he kidding, he’d just died.
Or: Janus wakes up in a different Thomas, with a different Deceit. Things go badly from there.

Summary
Deceit is one of the best assassins in the business. So assassinating Thomas Sanders should not be difficult - except Thomas seems to have the amazing ability to happen to escape from death.
And the longer it takes Deceit to kill Thomas, the less sure he is that he even wants to.

When lowly tempt-pusher Amphora (formerly of Stairwell 7B North, before she Fell,) gets the notice that end times are nigh, she gleefully quits her job and cancels her Netflix subscription and takes her place among the legions of hell.
This, it turns out, was a bad plan.

Summary
One of his captains had asked him, “Maglor, do you not sleep beside with your brother when visiting him?” and Maglor had replied, “I do, as it makes it easier for me to sleep,” and his captain had said, “Which is good, because you do not usually sleep,” and Maglor had said, “I do not.”
But his captain had then asked, “but doesn’t Prince Fingon also bed with him, on account of their completely secret and frankly astounding incestuous affair that no one knows about (and I certainly don’t myself)?” and Maglor had replied, “Yes, and that makes it harder to sleep.” On account of that being a full and complete explanation, Maglor’s captain had said, “Ah,” and that was the end of that conversation.

Summary
“It is not my body that imprisons me,” Maedhros said with a pointed look at the shackles around his wrists.
Sauron laughed. “You are quite mistaken. Take, for example, the – what is it your people call it? – the blossoming, I believe, is the local term; an interesting metaphor; the Sindar are of course very florally minded. It is most tiresome. Ah, I remember – opening.” He smirked. “Avoiding metaphor altogether, for of course it is an opening. There is the obvious if rather undignified physical action, of course, but what is strange to me is the effect that then has on the spirit – which opens, which yields. Therefore your body compels a subjection not merely to your own flesh but even to the flesh of another – and thus, of course, to the spirit of another. Now that is imprisonment, if you like!”
