It begins with fire.
Nothing so pedestrian as a blaze, a rough incendio, or even the emerald flames of floo travel. This is a primordial fire, something older than spells, older than rituals, older than the magical world itself. A more philosophical man might call it the Titan’s Bane, the source of the shadows on cave walls.
But Severus Snape never gave a fuck about philosophy.
Severus Snape died in the Shrieking Shack on the day of the final battle. His body is never found—at least, that is what the world believes.
Hermione Granger was one of the few survivors on the side of the light. When the dust of the battle settles, she is nowhere to be found.

Summary
