Summary
Born the unwanted and unneccesary spare in the 'heir and a spare' equation and an omega, Peter Hale's life was destined to be that of a court decoration, useful for nothing except decorating his alpha lord's arm and producing heirs. When his betrothed died right before their wedding, the then fifteen year old Peter was left largely to his own devices, considered unlucky to add to the rest.
Peter being Peter, he made the most of it. Now, nearly two decades later, he's a decorated soldier, leader of an elite combat team, a scholar, and an advisor on his sister's, the Queen's, counsel.
But as their queendom enters it's fifth year of a long, drawn out war, their people are displaced and hungry, and they're backed into a tight spot, in need of strong allies and aid. Their neighboring kingdom is the aid they need, and the heir to the throne is a young, unwed alpha- and there's only one unwed omega in the royal line left. Peter is once again engaged. He supposes he'll just have to make the most of it, once more.

Summary
Scott thought Stiles leaving BH for college was a betrayal to the pack, to him, and made it clear that Stiles would never be pack again. Thanks to Peter's preparations and suggestions, Stiles turned the next four years into the perfect foundation for one hell of an Emissarial canidate.
Coming back to Beacon Hills wasn't something Stiles was interested in - his prospects had grown beyond the small town. But the Council sent him for an errand, and his quick trip to see his dad and check on the Nemeton - thanks to Scott - took a sudden and desperate left turn. Faced by an ambitious rogue alpha, Stiles has choices to make. Summary
Stiles has reached the end. She knew the Pack had been pulling away from her for awhile. She knew Scott saw her as his dorky sidekick who was there for research and even then he didn't always trust her research. Couldn't he see that all she wanted to do was protect the Pack? Protect the territory? Nope. After the Nogitsune, Scott tells Stiles she isn't Pack. Still, Stiles holds on. After her father - no, not her father, the Sheriff - disowns her, Stiles holds on. The last straw? The one that did her in? The Sheriff basically gave Mr. Argent permission to kill her. With nothing left, no reason to hold on any longer - Stiles goes to said Mr. Argent's house to give him the chance to do just that - kill her. What happens next is a ride of magic, murder, and discovering the true meaning of Pack.
