Noelle blinked, stopping everything else for a moment to really take that in.
“Mr Dreemurr?” she affirmed, a tad nervously. “Uhm… Sounds… great.”
“See to it he feels welcome,” Mom instructed, “and he will look after you for me.”

“Yes, I… I do suppose so…” He averted his gaze. “I just wish there was a way to fill the gap in the mean time. I… I would much prefer to be saving up fields and fields of flowers for her, for Tori, whilst we… Well… Selling them makes it all feel rather hollow. But I understand that’s not an option.”
“Asgore,” she smiled thinly, “you should know by now that if you require something, you can come to me for it.”
He placed his glass down on the counter, nearly empty now, and turned back to her. There was something in his expression that told her he still wasn’t quite looking at her, but it was easy to pretend.
Carol was adept at pretending. She was even better at preserving.

“Noelle,” she called, sharply. “I could hear you milling around in the halls. What are you doing? It’s late, and you have school tomorrow.”
“O-Oh, uhm…” Noelle bit her lip. “Sorry, I… I was just…”
“Did you not go to bed? Why are you even awake at this time?” her mom continued.
Why are you, she wanted to ask. But Mom probably had a good reason… She didn’t do anything without some kind of reason.
“I couldn’t sleep,” she admitted.

Summary
Shadow awakens to a version of his world where the sky is permanently dark, and light really is running low. The outlook seems bleak, but as ever, Sonic appears, this time wielding a lightbulb big enough to show a way through this new, dark world. They’ve got each other, they’ve got more allies all around the world, and Sonic is holding the key to restoring hope to everyone.
There’s just a few issues… The world around them is decaying, reality is breaking, and the lightbulb is fragile. They’ve only got one shot.
