"I-," Bruce starts and finds himself stopping, coughing before trying again, "I can't help but worry if you don't want to be seen with me. I thought that maybe it's because we're two men but then I started thinking maybe it's just about it being me you're with."

Bruce and Hal's relationship is still fairly new. They're still familiarizing themselves with each other and enjoying all their new intimate moments. Something's been bothering Bruce though, he feels like Hal has been hiding him, ashamed to be seen with him. Eventually, they're forced to face their misunderstandings.

Bruce frowns, sucking his lower lip into his mouth in thought. Hal doesn’t even think before reaching his thumb out to stop him when he starts to chew off the skin, but Bruce’s eyes shoot open the moment he does it, darting up to Hal’s face. He aims to move his hand away, but before he manages, Bruce wraps his lips around the tip of Hal’s thumb, lifting his head a little to take the digit into his mouth.
“Oh,” Hal breathes, his heart rabbiting in his chest. “You need something to keep your mouth busy, Spooky?”
