To her, Quil was many things.
He was the greatest source of comfort and safety that she had ever known. He was steady and constant –perhaps too steady, too constant– like her heartbeat.
He was necessary, like oxygen. There was something unequivocally real and true and vibrant about him that never failed to make her feel serene, happy even. She trusted him and had no doubts about his affection for her –he showed his devotion in so many different ways, each one of them unique and special and completely Quil-like–.
He was also the fire that made her life exciting. Magnetic and all-consuming, his adoring stares, his mischievous smiles, his intimate conversations with her, and his gentle touch caressed the deepest parts of her heart, mind, and soul until all she could see and feel was him. It was overwhelming as much as it was reassuring.
In the end, Quil Ateara V was someone she was entirely sure about.
