Summary
The young mech once offered him absolution, when Megatron lay half-dead and once again defeated, and Megatron accepted his offer, and this is, indeed, something like that absolution. If someone like him can be absolved. At the very least, it is a taste, the closest to a taste of it that he's gotten since he surrendered to Autobot justice, cleaner and more true than his attempts at sacrifice.
He will not let his young alternate offline in Autobot hands. He will do anything and everything he must, for even if he does not survive this young mech must, so he can continue leading the Decepticons to what Megatron's Decepticons should have been.

Summary
The first cube of fuel Prowl gives him makes Megatron feel like purging. He made the decision to cease fueling several weeks ago. It's a coward's way out. It's been less than fifty years in his mobius cell. But he's tired and old and the world has no more use for him. And seeking this last indulgence, the luxury of drifting into stasis lock and a final sleep, is all the choice that's left to him. He's spent the last forty years in penance and silent regret and he's done.
Three weeks into his fast, the door that should never open again opens. He was so shocked he didn't even remember to move at first, to look. Oh, his fuel gets here somehow, he knew that, but he thought that forever was, well, forever.
Forever seems to be one more thing to bend at Prowl's discretion. "I have a proposal for you," says Prowl, and his hatred has not decreased by one iota.
Megatron tilts his head at the single chair in the room, and waits.

Summary
He collapses back into the couch as Megatron had done. "What are we going to do," he moans.
"Nothing!" decides Megatron. Optimus had sucked the helplessness from him, and so, free, he explodes to his feet. "Let the idiots who kicked us from power suffer the consequences. Then we rebuild again, grab back our seats, and avoid the rolling mill machine for the rest of our days."
"I thought you didn't want Neutrals tearing down your hard work?"
Megatron, pacing, doesn't look at Optimus. "No, no, I did a poor job of it the first time. Let them take the blame for the fall, I will construct something better."
"Do you think people will die when they place those explosives?"
Megatron shrugs.
"Well, we made this planet," Optimus decides. "We knew work had to be done, and we knew it might be endless. If we want to change it we can't go about doing it by letting people die."
