After Emma became utterly convinced (by the memories of a dog and the word of the mother she had just met) that Regina was guilty of the murder of Dr. Archie Hopper, the savior had no choice but to help execute the punishment on (her girlfriend) the Evil Queen: permanent exile from Storybrooke.
A disastrous fight with the Queen of Hearts, a struggle to save the town from total annihilation, a journey to Neverland, and five years in the Enchanted Forest later, Storybrooke faces a terrible unknown threat that no hero seems capable of resolving or even comprehending.
The only hope of breaking the new curse appears to be Regina Mills. Henry and Emma set out on a quest to find the woman, confident that nearly six years of estrangement have made her easier to deal with. It’s a plan that can’t fail… right?
The only problem is that Regina would rather drink battery acid than set foot in that damned town again.

Summary
Emma accidentally brought back Marian. Now Regina hates her and won't even look at her. It's killing Emma.
So she makes a wish on a star to find Regina's happy ending.
What she doesn't know is that Regina is making the same exact wish.
And a new stranger in town is wishing to be close to a loved one again.
The lines cross, and a new friend shows up to help Regina, while the new friendly face promises Emma to help her with her search.
If only they knew; Only an act of True Love can thaw a frozen heart.

When you look at them, you can tell. That characteristic snarl, how they roll their eyes hard enough that it would strike out in a bowling alley. Regina and Zelena are sisters whether they want it or not. (Oh but they do. They really do and it hurts whenever Regina leaves Zelena’s door open after an argument or Zelena disappears and Regina thinks the worst, the worst––)

Dark!Emma, because that promo destroyed me just a little bit. Based mostly on assorted speculation for 4b.
Emma's face is wiped free of emotion, nothing left but a grin under empty eyes. “My parents made me into their little weapon, turned the gun at you and pulled the trigger and then wiped their hands clean.”
She can’t imagine that Snow would…yes. She thinks of her mother in Storybrooke, of Snow standing in front of her with a smile that promises the world and a box in her hands with Cora’s heart inside it. Yes, she can. If the fate of her kingdom was in the balance? Yes.
Emma spreads her hands wide, palms out, and grins the self-deprecating grin of someone who isn’t grinning at all. “And shit, I think I’m fresh out of bullets.”
