    Zhou Huaijin agreed so quickly that Lu Jia laughed. “You haven’t even seen them. I could be offering you a closet.” He looked down at Zhou Huaijin, eyes shining with good humor, and Zhou Huaijin looked back, feeling the same overflowing happiness he’d felt that day on the California highway. The moment stretched, grew heavy and golden, as their gaze held. It was Lu Jia who broke it at last.
    “You think on it and tell me tomorrow,” he said. “I won’t blame you if you change your mind.”
