Summary
This part always got..fuzzy for her. She had taken such care to remember her last moments with Tommy. But…when it came to the aftermath she had wanted desperately to forget. 27’s throat tightens, as if any words he could have thought to say are trapped there. If it weren’t for Memory’s nails digging into his wrist, he would probably have stood there all night, trying to understand what they wanted him to do.
Use his quirk on a child. A tiny, frightened child.
He kneels down, trying to get her to look him in the eye, to make some kind of connection. Anything to try and make her answer. “D-do you want to go away? Do you want to go somewhere safe?”
Her eyes open, slowly, and the sobbing slows enough that she isn’t shaking with it quite as much. Her hands are lowering from her mouth.
“Uh-huh.”
Her voice, so small and hoarse, is all he needs. He feels the quirk trap around her mind, and her eyes fade from red to white, hands dropping slack by her side.

This work is based off of The Last Resort, written by coldandhotsoba. In this AU, after Shinsou Hitoshi is sold to The Miasma, The Miasma sells him to Overhaul to fill the role of "The Mediator" for Eri. Even after the raid on the 8 Precepts, the wards are haunted by their pasts, but the ghosts in Shinsou's mind are anything but dead.

Everyone who sails the seven seas knows of the fairytales that float around like the ships on the ocean waves. From killer sirens, to the elusive kraken, and even pirate crews themselves that have built a name among the legends. These creatures and crews are real, no doubt about it, but they are feared far and wide. No one dares to go out and search for them since a run in with any legend, human or not, would surely end in misfortune.
Although one creature stands out from the rest. Not only for its ability to grant wishes, but also for its rarity. There is only one that we know to exist. The child, thought to be abandoned by his kind, gets visitors from near and far, exchanging gifts and offerings for a wish granted. He is known by all, so it isn't a surprise that when he goes missing from his island that every inhabitant of the ocean, human or not, is searching for him, trying to bring him back home.
