Even if that meant Buck was the one lying unconscious in a hospital bed with a bullet in his chest. He'd go through all of that just to have Eddie awake again."
Or, a little alternate idea for the shooting where Eddie ends up in a coma & professionals have to be the one to break it to Buck that he's now Christopher's legal guardian, at least until Eddie wakes up. Buck has to come to terms with what decisions Eddie made & face the meanings behind them.

The sound of the knight’s disembodied voice startled Merlin so much he dropped his spoon.

“Thank you.” Twilight managed to give her a soft, genuine smile. “You know, it’s been a really long time since anyone took care of me like this. I don’t usually get taken care of.”
“Because you’re always busy taking care of others,” Yor replied. “You know… I never realized until I married you that—well, I suppose that’s the good thing about being married, huh? You don’t have to be the only one who takes care of yourself. You don’t have to be alone anymore.”
Twilight stared at Yor in astonishment, as if that were some major revelation, rather than an obvious fact about marriage.
Or, Twilight takes care of a sick Anya and then he learns to be taken care of 💕
