    ⭐⭐⭐Draco POV. Long, plotty. BEAUTIFUL WRITING. Starts Hogwarts First year. The end of the first Wizarding war turned out very differently for the Malfoys. Near hat-stall leads to unexpected house sorting. Fairly divergent from the off. No Lockhart - Sturgis Podmore instead. You-Know-Who in a trenchcoat. Food is all American tho'. Ron’s random and incandescent strokes of good form (no bashing). Whirling nexus of Stupid. Quidditch degenerates into an eldritch abomination of limbs and house spirit. She's not kidding about the slow burn. Hermione cannot admit to the mortifying state of being in error. Harry DETERMINED, repeatedly, to be an utter fool. Corking. A Slytherin is transfigured into an animal but it's not Malfoy and it's not a ferret either. Bawled my way through secondary character death after GoF maze. Percy catches chronic rattus bastardia. No smut. Spoiler alert but no kissing until Ch 68. OotP quite dark. Responsible adults all MIA. Several miserable funerals Godf*ckingdammit. Dramione.

    Harry’s survived impossible odds all his life: his hateful relatives, their abrupt decision to kick him out, and then years spent staying alive on the streets of London.

    He’s excellent at surviving impossible situations. His magic powers don’t hurt his odds at all either.

    And now? Getting to go to a school filled with other magical students? Getting a gang of his own? Fighting headmasters who don’t seem to like him and learning occlumency from his professor?

    Life is brill now.

     

    Life is not so ‘brill’ for Severus Snape who sees a small boy covered in scars and filled with trauma and worries about how to best fulfill his vow to keep the boy safe when the boy has a knack for brewing constant chaos.
