Summary
It has been three months since the Veilguard fell. Three months since the rest of the Evanuris — long supposed to be dead — emerged from the Veil. Three months since Solas abandoned her.
Three months that Rook has been at the mercy of vengeful, insane gods.
The plan to save her, like many of the plans Solas has, is decidedly terrible.
But she is at the mercy of that, too.

Summary
Nearly a year has passed since Rook last saw Solas. It's not that she intentionally puts him out of her mind, but the sting of remembering his manipulation of her vulnerability is enough psychological deterrent to prevent her mind from drifting there on the average day. And now, here she is; drifting. Hurtling, more like, thanks to the alcohol.
or
After a night of drinking and trading stories with Dorian and the ex-Inquisitor, Rook wonders about Solas and his journey to atone, alone in the Fade. It's just enough to draw her back into his orbit.

Summary
He tells her half-truths of the anchor and how she might close the rifts, assures Cassandra that though she is a mage, she is not capable of such extraordinary magic, and laughs genuinely when she asks if Varric is with the chantry. He makes himself fit in.
The world is fractured beyond repair, these people are little more than tranquil, and the fade is locked behind his creation. If this woman, this interrupter with the markings of the all-mother is to be the key to their salvation, so be it. He has made more from less.

It was never supposed to happen like this, for either of them. But it did, and everything will change because of it.
(exploring the Solavellan love story in DAI through the lens of what we learn of Solas in DAV; Solas related DAV spoilers will be sprinkled throughout)

Summary
Alone, they are like the right and left hands, which need no conversation to know which holds the knife and which the rope, to know who chops and who steadies. But you can deny your body’s instinctive response to nearly anything, she has learned, once you get into the habit of it.
