斯内克坐在一边看着，这时用一种理所当然的语气询问：“但你会处理好一切的，对吗？”
Ocelot finally spoke again: "Miller's been mentally unstable since returning from the Soviet camp. He can't take having his mind tampered with any further."
Snake sat nearby, watching, and asked in a tone that implied there could be no other answer: "But you'll handle everything, won't you?"

Miller yawned groggily, and after seeing Snake's scruffy face, shut his eyes again and smiled. "Snake. You wouldn't be coming at this hour just to have sex with me, I assume."
Snake didn't smile. "There's a corpse in the trunk of my car."

The boy in an olive-green vest and shorts crawl past the instructors' window. At the corner he looked around with quick animal caution. No matter how many times you saw it, that impassive profile hit you like a blow. One look and anyone who knew you would recognize the resemblance.
You watched as he lifted out a puppy, which had gray-black fur and round, soft paws. His face showed an expression of rare joy.

Snake seemed to shake himself free of his memories and looked up at Kaz. “Is it shaving?” Snake reached out and touched his cheek.
Kaz nodded, the embarrassment creeping back. Snake’s hand was gentle on his face. He could hear the light rasp of his stubble under the man’s fingers.
Snake drew back and gestured to the washstand. “It’s been a while since I shaved,” he mumbled, “but I think I can still handle it.”

Summary
Kaz levels his hard, stern gaze with the pup, which doesn’t return the favor because it’s far too busy hiding behind Ocelot’s boots. Kaz watches as the pup peeks around, sees Kaz, and goes back to hiding. Ocelot tuts, folding his arms over his chest.
“Seems you don’t play well with other dogs, Miller.”
In an instant, Kaz turns his attention to his colleague, who stands in the middle of the command tower while he sits behind the control dashboard. “The hell is that supposed to mean?” he snaps, showing his teeth off in an almost-growl. That’s a very dog thing to do, he thinks; he returns to his now-trademarked frown, deeply set in his face.
Or, Kaz takes a long time to warm up to the wolfdog Boss brought back.

Miller教官的退休纪念活动最终在猎狐犬的食堂进行，Solid Snake加入了其他几个比较热心的学员，进行了一次白天行动。他们从两百英里外的镇上买回了拉炮、鸡蛋、新鲜的黄油和朗姆酒，然后厨师尽力地做了个蛋糕。纪念活动在晚上八点开始，最终大约有两个留在基地的小组和半打新兵参加了，Roy Campbell上校也离开了他的办公室，做了一个简短的发言。Campbell上校看起来有点尴尬，但是至少手里拿着发言稿，还念完了它。Miller教官站在台下的人群里面，双手环抱在胸前，罕见地看起来表情还算平和。
