Anything to continue the legacy that her dad made for himself. She still remembered that fateful day when her and her friend were attacked by that human all those years ago. Kanako's father told her beforehand that humans were dangerous and not to be trusted, but that experience only confirmed that for her. So it's not like she'll just meet another human and somehow befriend them and potentially blossom their relationship into something more...right?
