Summary
"Lloyd?" Kai called into the darkness, voice steady despite the worry dripping from him in borderline solar flares. He frowned at the lack of response, moving his flameless hands to cup his mouth. "Nya! Lloyd!"
Again, no response.
The worry was practically tearing him apart inside out now- something he would likely never admit. Kai walked further back into the cave, attempting to locate the others. If he was mildly frantic about it, no he wasn't.
Kai came to a halt at the sound of what could almost be called a scream.
One that he was far too familiar with.

"Cozbi?" She called out, not overly expecting any form of response. She'd figured she was alone here with the lack of really any noise apart from the quiet gusts of wind rustling the wheat.
The avian would deny it for the entirety of her life, but when the rain started to pour, she did actually flinch. She hadn't really expected it to come this early, honestly.
She paused at the sound of something walking through the wheat fields, quiet in only the sense of the word. With the lack of noise, those soft and cracking footsteps sounded almost like thunder in the crows ears.
"...Reck?" Eve tried again, not entirely trusting the previous observation of being alone anymore. She frowned again when she didn't get any response besides the wind beginning to pick up.
// Eve dies and gets "respawned" or whatevah in some weird field of grass and wheat, she goes exploring and doesn't use her wings for idiotic reasons of course, almost gets eaten alive, panics, sets off a chain of landmines, spooky monsters get blown into nothing but guts, Eve gets exploded as well and dies again, "respawns" thingy thing inside the cabin, panics, runs around to find everyone, see's note saying they're dead, and then commits suicide.

"That's not an answer, Cole."
Cole frowned, staring at Kai. He'd given a response, hadn't he?
"Look- You passed out on the way back and slept for nearly the entire day. I just- There's no way you're okay. You haven't even said anything!"
He couldn't quite tell if Kai was angry or concerned. As much as Cole wanted to respond with his voice, it felt like a violent scratch of sand every time he even moved his tongue.
His silent stare didn't seem to tell the other that.
What was he thinking again?

The crash Cole and Kai got into in that one episode in like, season 16. Later on, I don't remember the exact episode, sorry on that, looked bad. Like. It looked really bad. So naturally, I decided I needed to write up some consequences of it taking place after the fight with the overlord.

Royal entered his Identical Twins room, glancing around for a moment before spotting him burying himself in his orange blankets. His purple-Ish and white feathers didn't help him blend in much.Berry stared at his Identical Twin, his throat burning and splintering at any sound he dared to try and make. He turned around, shoving himself deeper into his orange blankets. He didn't want to see Royal, not now. He didn't much care for how he had offered to help him, to teach him sign language, to try and find antidotes and such. No, it was Royals fault he couldn't talk anymore, so why would he ever want help from him?
In turn of his thoughts, his mind supplied him with memories of growing up. Of how they had always been there for each other, of how they'd both done more good than harm to one another, of how Royal had instantly began apologizing and attempting to help him after the accident."Berry, I'm sorry."

Summary
Kai doesn’t believe in fate. Not at all. The idea that there’s some sort of invisible power pushing events in the universe to happen is entirely ridiculous to him. He’s not one to say, “science would say otherwise,” but he’s never really believed in magic. And to Kai, the idea of a destined outcome to life is impossible, weird, and a bit creepy. So he doesn’t believe in fate.
And yet somehow, every other time he goes into an airport, he manages to keep running into the same damn guy.

“You— You know the Secret Keeper voices? When you succeed your task?” Scar asks, the words practically bursting out of him, propelled by the pressure of being kept at bay for so long.
Martyn’s eyes narrow just slightly, his gaze flickering to the Secret Keeper and then back. “Yeah, I’ve heard ‘em. We all have, far as I can tell.”
Scar nods and swallows, pasting on a shaky grin. “I hear them all the time.”

A few steps ahead, the roiling sea writhed and roared.
Kai shakily walked across the boardwalk, lowering the umbrella as he did so. The rain masked his tears as they rolled down his face, like fire against his cold skin.
“Hello, Nya,” he murmured to the sea, an ache as deep as his bones filling the gap where his heart used to lie.

Or, Kai's not coping well after the events of Seabound. Brace yourself, y'all, it's pretty depressing :(
