Ever since the alien invasion began, what feels like years ago, DA has devoted herself to furthering XCOM’s cause to protect humanity and Earth from the alien threat. Carlos has struggled to keep his head above water for most of his adult life, always dancing on the edge of progress and safety with his career and not always making the right choices. Summary
Mai and Ty Lee have been Azula's friends since they were children, and they've served as her servants since she was turned. Along with Zuko, the four have sustained an uncomfortable stasis in the Sabbat for the past 50 years, ever mindful of the consequences if any of them step out of line.
The blood bonds within the Sabbat make the idea of leaving, or worse, betraying the sect unthinkable. They have also shielded Zuko and Azula from the monsters they are surrounded by. Less so for Mai and Ty Lee, who as ghouls have only their relative isolation and their mistress' prestige to protect them.
Mai sees the writing on the wall: something must change. But neither she nor Ty Lee have the power to change it- not without doing something drastic and, more likely, deadly for the two of them. Her faith, as it has had to for 50 years, lies with the siblings and the hope that they have more control over her destiny... and their own.

Hundreds of miles away, Wendy is in a similar boat. Amid dreary winter days and piled-on schoolwork, she can't help but miss the summer, and the person that made it so special.
Neither can wait to meet again, and both are resigned to the fact that it won't be happening anytime soon.
However, fate has other plans, and their reunion will come far sooner than either thinks. Some bad weather, a very bad book, and a lot of buried feelings will ensure that both Dipper and Wendy's winter ends up a lot more interesting (and dangerous) than they expect.
After all, who said Gravity Falls is only weird in the summertime?
