Summary
Expelled from Hogwarts for using dark magic as a last resort, Hermione goes to the only place that will take someone tainted by the shadow; Durmstrang, where knowledge is a blade, obedience is a ritual, and survival is a quiet, daily act of defiance. Enthralled by the intimate violence of the Dark Arts more than she cares to admit to herself, Hermione must learn the architecture of power all over again.
Then Draco Malfoy arrives, carrying a darkness that surpasses even Durmstrang's propensity for cruelty. Draco is hiding something. Something that festers in the space between the boy he was and the cruel stranger he has become. She tells herself she needs the truth to stay safe. But the truth feels perilously close to obsession.
Hermione must choose who she intends to become in a place where the line between student and monster blurs with every lesson. Durmstrang can break her, or it can remake her, but it will not leave her untouched.

Draco Malfoy is found alive in Azkaban after five years, carrying scars deeper than skin. He is traumatised, unstable, furious at the world, and drowning in the ghosts of what was done to him. Hermione Granger, now in charge of the Deradicalisation and Reintegration department of the Ministry, discovers something she shouldn't have. Malfoy was never tried, never convicted and does not seem to exist on record. Tasked with facilitating the rehabilitation of someone who hates her back into society at the expense of her own personal life falling apart, it quickly becomes clear to Hermione that something or someone had never intended for him to escape. Caring for him becomes her purpose; needing him becomes her undoing.

But when she's captured and made prisoner at Malfoy Manor, of all the dark and evil ways she'd envisioned Malfoy would torture her, she never quite imagined anything this horrific.I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that I was originally inspired to write this fic after I read the masterpiece that is Manacled, so I would like to thank SenLinYu for her amazing work! The memory searching aspect of Manacled is what inspired me, and although I have adapted that, (and also made Draco head Death Eater, because... ya know... we all love it when he's Voldemort's right hand man 😅😉), Secrets and Masks will be a very very different fic all together.

Summary
When Death Eaters kidnap the Golden Girl, Draco Malfoy decides that she will be his to break. What starts of as a stint in Malfoy Manor as a general slave, quickly turns into something else when Draco develops an obsession with her that becomes extremely volatile.
“So, what will it be, Granger? Your body,” he said and she felt his hand on her waist, squeezing firmly. “Or your mind?”
“You don't need to do any of this, Malfoy,” she said softly, hating every single way her body was betraying her by showing him the level of fear he was capable of instilling in her.
He released her waist, his hand on her chest was gone and he took a step back, creating a space between them that made her want to take a deep breath, but too afraid that she might still suffocate from the poison of his words.
“You’re right, I don't," he said and reached beside her for his tea. “But I want to.”
“Why?”
He took a long sip of tea, seemingly satisfied with the brew. He looked at her then and smiled again.
