There were two EMTs working furiously to stabilize her friend, their hands were all over her, placing a splint around her neck and stabbing her with syringes.
Wrong wrong wrong, Enid growled. Wednesday hated to be touched, and one layer of latex gloves wouldn’t change that.
“Wednesday,” She said, somewhere between a breath and a whimper. Her own fingers itched to reach out and grab her hand, to find a pulse beating in her wrist, but she didn’t, even though Wednesday was more comfortable with Enid touching her than anyone else, she couldn’t let herself do it without her knowledge. Not while she smelled of blood and rot and death. Enid inhaled deeply, working to control her pounding heart. Wednesday smelled so wrong.

Why do Enid and Wednesday work out so well?
It's probably because they're like raven and wolves.
And Raven and Wolves, share a symbiotic relationship, which means they both benefit from what they do for each other. Ravens will adopt wolves, playing with them as they grow. They will even follow the “adopted” wolf if it decides to leave the pack. Ravens will also lead wolf packs to carcasses that they find and share the meal.
