    Summary

“Is there something on your mind, Frodo?” he asked, patiently waiting as the boy seemed to pause as though thinking.

“Uncle…” he began, only to trail off. He then huffed and pulled away slightly until he was looking right up at Bilbo. “You’re not happy here, Uncle,” he stated bluntly, “you don’t like the Shire. You miss the Lonely Mountain.”

    “I am happy, Frodo-”

“Don’t lie! You always lie about it, Uncle,” Frodo told him, “I want you to be happy. I want to see you smile again, like you did for me.”
    ---
Bilbo returned to the Shire to take care of his young nephew Frodo after Frodo's parents died. He left behind the one he loved and the family he cared for dearly, but a promise is a promise and a Baggins keeps their promises. Thankfully, Frodo loves his uncle just as much as he loves adventures, so if convincing Uncle Bilbo to take him to Erebor means that his uncle will smile again, that's a win-win situation for him!

    Summary

So the delightful Pangur-Pangur wrote this prompt on tumblr: Giggling to myself over the thought of what stern glower Thorin might wear when, much to his dismay, Bilbo’s sole and most precious tomato sapling (perhaps a gift, and left in Thorin’s care before said Hobbit departs on an extended diplomatic excursion to Dale or Mirkwood) begins to droop and wither in its terrarium.

Just…Thorin alternating between forlorn and fiercely determined scowls while Dwalin snickers unhelpfully. Thorin taking his duty to this sprout very seriously – holding court with the terrarium on a little pedestal next to his throne so he can keep an eye on it. Thorin talking to the little furred leaves and hovering anxiously with the watering can and everyone saying, “Thorin NO.”

Thorin sending plaintive ravens to the Shire requesting aid before Bilbo returns.

And I decided to turn it into a fic!

    Summary

Bilbo and Thorin are accidentally de-aged into young children, and the company is forced to babysit them while Gandalf thinks of a solution. Little Bilbo is a trouble-maker and a flirt, and little Thorin has an attitude and a massive puppy crush on the hobbit.

    Summary

(The third of my orphaned works to be continued. Explanation in Chapter One.)

The dwarves discuss the quickly encroaching Winter, and its predicted severity. Bilbo immediately steps in to ration and handle the food distribution for those in the mountain.

Pleased that Bilbo is becoming more involved with the comings and goings of the mountain he will be calling home, the dwarves don't question his passion for the subject, because after all, Hobbits and food just go together, don't they?

AKA, the one where the Dwarves don't know the story of the Fell Winter.
