  Summary

  This is a prequel to the original play, following a young Macbeth as he competes in a tournament organised by King Duncan to crown a 'King of Thanes'. The tournament is held in fun, but Macbeth, as the ambitious young man he is, takes it entirely seriously and undergoes somewhat of an ego-death, after losing to Banquo. Basically, this text explores the birth of Macbeth's slow-burn ambition.
