Summary
He was breathing heavily, both from exertion and fear as he neared his apartment building. He’d put distance between the woods and the shots that he’d heard, and he let himself breathe for a moment. It wasn’t like someone would start shooting people in such a lit up area. Probably. He didn’t want to chance anything, so he kept moving, though his pace slowed a bit as he saw red splotches on the concrete. It glistened in the light of the lamps, and Milo felt ill.
Was that blood?
His eyes didn’t follow the path entirely—completely unsettled and not wanting to look at it any longer—but he had a cold feeling that it had come from the woods too. To make things worse, it led into the other staircase of his building.
--OR Milo seems to be a magnet for all kinds of trouble ;)

Summary
"You’re a strange guy, Milo. And I mean that as a compliment.” Six sat up again, watching Milo with green eyes as he moved a bit closer. “But I get what you mean. Why would I come back if my problem is solved, right?” He breathed in, giving Milo a considering look, like he was trying to figure out why it wasn’t making sense to the human. “You helped me,” he said simply. “And a vampire never forgets.”
“I thought that was elephants,” Milo responded quietly, a warm feeling alighting in his chest at how Six chuckled at it.
“Them too,” Six agreed easily, a yawn pulling his jaw open once more. He grew more serious as he came out of the yawn, looking at Milo. “But I’m being serious. I really appreciate it, man. You could’ve opened the door for that hunter, and I would have been screwed. I’ve been alive for… a while. But I’d rather not die just yet. Anyway, I told you I’d pay you back, so what do you want?”
