Because he’s an absolute idiot that apparently hasn’t learned a single thing in the thirteen years he spent at The Nest. And Jean had gone with him because… well, he must have a reason. Someone as broken as Jean wouldn’t make such a bold move if he didn’t expect to get something out of it. The point, whatever their motives, is that now Kevin is a ruined investment that has stolen Moriyama propriety. And he would be very surprised if such a slight was left unanswered.

Pansy had started planning her sixteenth birthday party two years in advance. It would start as a quiet soireé with Daphne, Tracey and Millicent because if she didn’t invite Millicent, Tracy wouldn’t stop complaining about thirdwheeling. Both of her parents would be there -mother would leave society matters unattended for a day and father wouldn’t even think of setting foot on the Ministry however many Floo calls he got-. She’d wear a periwinkle blue dress for the evening and change into a flamingo pink one for supper. After, the rest of the guests -an equally selected group of seventy one- would join for cocktails and dance. To end the night perfectly, Draco would be kiss her in the garden under the stars.
As it approached it became clear that it wasn’t going to go quite as planned.

Aimée didn't inted to find any quest-mates, mainly because she didn't believe she could convince anyone that Marie Antoinette was still alive. She also didn't intend to get Teresa's father killed or made her move continents or find her cute and endearing. Dragging Jett into the whole mess and ending up in New Orleans bothering a teenage psychic wasn't part of the plan either. Summoning a ghost was... at this rate, to be expected. And don't even get her started on the centuries old french monster she had apparently unleashed on North America. Mon Dieu, she should've stayed on her lane. And on France while at it.

Adam stopped two steps shy of Ronan’s back. Ronan had to feel him there. Staring, and breathing and completely under the spell his voice had casted over St. Agnes Church. He raised a hand towards his shoulder, half convinced his fingers would go through him as if he were a hallucination.
Ronan turned in time to catch his wrist, fingers surrounding Adam’s with his whole hand. His eyes were alight in a way they weren’t in the sunlight. Molten, sharp, fiery… yes; but also alive with a calm yet burning intensity. He seemed, for the first time since Adam knew him, to be too in communion with a place to disturb it. And, not for the first time since Adam knew him, he thought Ronan was beautiful and magnificent in a way a seventeen years old boy didn’t have the right to be.
“Parrish,” he said, somehow managing not to corrupt the calm the Latin chant had set in “be holy.”

Yelena swallowed. The doors were still open. “Oh, I don’t know. Uh, like the, uh, crazy things my dad says. Like, maybe if you wanted to talk about that, I thought, you know, you could come in and we could talk about that.”
Bob didn’t move for a moment. His dark eyes were fixed on the floor, on the crack between the elevator and the floor to her room. On the void between, tiny and endless, a crack of pitch blackness in the building that eyes never saw and a finger couldn’t fit into, but a void all the same. “Do you… want to talk about that?” he asked, his voice quiet and low and cautious.
